Venting your generators exhaust therefore becomes a task you want to embark upon. This is an 18 extension pipe for the gen turi generator exhaust system. You want at least 1 foot above the roof line. 4 wing bolts 1 4 20 thread size.

1 each large bungee cord. G2427 6 5 503 6 6 gas vent termination. Above the roof surface with a listed cap or listed roof assembly. 1 each 3 inch drain pipe 1 foot length with cutout.

For normal or average sized generators there are several ways to go about this. The venting system is designed specifically for rv generators to help provide fresher air around rvs plus minimize generator noise. It is a cape cod with a very pitched roof and the pipe runs up the wall along the chimney which is positioned at the center of wall to highest point at the top of the roof line. I had two questions for the installers.

It is recommended that the exhaust pipe extend a minimum of 6 above the roof line. 2 each 3 inch drain pipe couplers. In all areas exhaust vents should be at least 1 foot above roof surface. 1 each 3 inch hose clamp.

Section 7 10 2 of nfpa 110 states that exhaust system installation should be gastight to prevent exhaust gas fumes from entering inhabited room or buildings and terminate in such a manner that toxic fumes cannot reenter a building or structure particularly through windows air ventilation inlets or the engine air intake system. Dilution of fumes leads to less rattle that is often transferred to the vehicle body and then the surrounding area resulting in reducing noise all around. Exhaust vents must not be allowed to be obscured or hidden by vegetation. A venting system shall be designed and constructed so as to develop a positive flow adequate to remove flue or vent gases to the outdoor atmosphere.

While the gen turi system comes complete with 10 of pipe you may need a little extra if you have a taller rv and this extension will allow you to reach the recommended height. As generator exhaust is vented above the roof line of the rv and is also air cooled in a patented process.
