Eventually transom windows earned a dominant role in households not just above exterior doors but within the interior space of a home as well. So for a 2 8 door so would order a 2 8 transom. Choose interior or exterior models. For single doors simply order a transom sash that is the same width as the door slab that will go underneath.

Wood transoms provide beautiful detail to interior doors. Interior trim will match the door unit. Typically non operating and used to add style and increase natural light transoms span the width of the opening they top and can be placed above single or double doors and sidelites. Transoms separate doors from windows above the door and allow extra light to enter your home when they are placed above exterior windows.

The pattern or design of the muntins for the transom usually does not align with the muntin bars or stiles of the doors below. This is normal there is no need to align them. Transom windows delivered to your door transom windows. We would strongly recommend going with the transom.

Our transoms are single pane 1 4 annealed glass with simulated divided lite with 1 3 16 muntin bars. Both business and residential buildings installed these windows atop doors leading into offices dining areas or libraries creating a continuous flow of air and light between spaces.
